I have been teaching professionally since 1986 and have taught 90 to 100 students per week at Stanroy Music Center since 1988. I have given well over 100,000 individual guitar lessons and am one of the most experienced teachers in northern California.
Because no two music students are exactly alike, no two music lessons should be exactly the same.Your lessons with me are custom designed to your interests while still helping you develop the skills we all need as musicians. I teach all styles and all levels. My students show a wide variety of interests from classic rock to the latest artists.
For the beginners, I encourage you to introduce yourself or your children to a new interest in and enthusiasm for music! Lessons begin by developing the coordination, technique, and dexterity you need to play. All ages are welcome, and you may begin on any type of guitar. I’m very patient, and when you take lessons with me, I’ll teach you the music you love from day one, allowing you to enjoy the process of learning and practicing. . . and inspiring you to continually improve.
For the advanced players, I can take what you already know, fill in the gaps, and help end the aggravation that stops you from taking your skill to the next level.
All ages are welcome! It’s never too early or too late to enjoy making music. And the music you want to play is often easier than you think. There’s no secret other than finding the best way to explain what you want to learn so that it’s clear to you. On-line videos and DVDs can’t do that. (And the frustration that can come from their limitations may having you believing the failure is yours when it’s not!)
Learn what you can use. Play what you love; love what you play!
